What a difference strings make!

I have been playing since 1978 and have tried pretty much every brand of strings. I only use Ernie Ball Cobalt. I live the growl, punch and depth I get from them.

Interesting. Yeah, I put some Earnie Ball Nickel Wounds on my Squier Affinity Jazz bass a few months ago, and I wasn't too happy with them. If I was looking for a heavy metal sound then it would be great. Anyways, I'm in the process of selling that bass since I've upgraded recently.

+1 Cobalts and SIT Power Wounds are the ones I keep coming back to. Cobalts for angry tones. SIT's for general purpose.
