What a "guest" sees ( or does NOT ) when browsing.

Sometimes I browse TB without logging on, unless/until I see something that I wish to contribute to or comment on.

Lately, I have noticed that as a guest, the forum chooser list window on the bottom right hand side of the page, does not appear when I am not logged on. Also, when I put my browser arrow over a thread title, the first couple of lines do not appear, when a guest.

Has this always been the case, or could it be my browser ? I seem to remember a time when it was not like this. I am a member of numerous other forums, and have not encountered this.

I just tried this in a different browser (and not logged in). I did not see the forum chooser at the bottom, but I was able to see the post previews when placing the cursor on the thread title.

Thanks for that. So there must be a problem between TB and my browser. At first I thought that the fact I am in Europe might be the problem, but I dont have this problem with other USA forums, or any other forums for that matter.

There are some things that we turn off (forum jump and tooltips) for guests. The purpose is to reduce extra HTML code in pages that search engine spiders access. This reduces the "signal to noise" ratio and theoretically makes TB more search engine friendly.

That is probably the reason for my "problem".
