thx,guy i've try this but MZ3 + 5 digits (2003-2004) .. and this fender have MZ3(141599) 6 digits ..

it's fake? or what?

and how do i know about the specing?

No one is going to fake a S/N on a MIM Fender. Not worth the trouble. They can be very good instruments, but not valuable. Just get as close as you can. Do a web search for other Fender dating sites.

I don't know what "specing" is, but what you really should do is relax, not worry about details on a relatively inexpensive instrument, and invest your enery on setting it up right and playing it.

It's was made in Mexico in 2003. On the serial number, Z indicates the 2000s and the three means 2003. The body is alder.

To be complete: it is a Fender Deluxe Active Jazz Bass, made in Mexico in 2003. Alder body, very good instruments

Alder bodies,i have a P approx ten lbs and a fretless J near 9 lbs,,,after the `Squier' bursts@ 12 lbs with agathis bodies=i love emYMMV of course,some people LIKE heavy bodies

and both necks are great so just buy it if you want it it's still a Fender
