Sounds like you have a maple fretboard if it's white.

You'd do well to get the radius right, fill the fretlines with wood or some solid material, and just put one layer of tung oil on the neck - then play it.

Ill post pics soon! I already filled the lines in with black plastic binding. I also radiused it with a 14" stew mac block
