What are some aesthetically 80's basses?

This ticks all the 80s boxes. Excellent work :roflmao:
✓ Pointy instrument
✓ Rack of keyboards (for power ballads)
✓ Acid wash jeans
✓ Headband
✓ Drum rack system
✓ Long hair AND bangs
✓ Peavey logo just barely visible in background
✓ Basement of local Fraternal Order Of Old Guys, converted to a gig dungeon with lights hanging through the drop ceiling (not pictured: power outlets with hot and neutral reversed)

Not sheriff there is a bass that is more quintessentially 80s. View attachment 4472256
I remember when those Steinberger basses first came out. It seemed all the big names were beginning to use them. I actually sent away for a brochure from them. When I got the catalog, I really wanted to get one, but could not afford the price. I think it was like $1500 back then. Later, I got a chance to try one at a music store when I was in college, and the neck was way too fat and chunky for me. Since the neck was carbon fiber, I was not expecting the neck to be so thick. But that's one of the basses, along with the Aria Pro II SB 1000, that screams the 80's to me. You don't see those original Steinberger basses played much anymore, and the ones you do see go for quite a hefty price now.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Hohner B2V.
Same here. I've had it for nearly 20y. Mine is mo'better than everyone else's as the previous owner made brass bridge jaws and a brass single string headpiece.
I've had this as an ebay search for many, many years but have yet to see another for sale locally.
Those wooden thru-body Hohners with the Steinberger hardware are truly fantastic instruments.
Mine are getting pivot plate screw inserts once I get set up in the new house and the drill press arrives.
The black B2 is getting EMG HB and HBCS pickups so it can be used in place of the XL2 and the B2V something else, maybe Lace Alumi's.
