Lighter gauge strings are going to be more flexible...
I like at least 40-100 sets for slapping, especially fast slapping with lots of hameron's and pull off's...
If not doing that much you can use 45-105 or even heavier and still slap, you get a fatter beefier tone generally with heavier strings when slapping...
Well people are all different and like different things, even if they have the same tonal goals. But you can slap on anything...rounds, flats, tapes...all sounds different, all sounds good.
