Double Bass What are the length of GHS Crossover EUB strings?

I've looked everywhere, but can't seem to find this info.
I just bought a used Big KYDD electric upright bass and need some new strings on it.
The EUB's measurements are as follows:
nut to bridge = 36''
bridge to tailpiece/tuning mechanism = 2''
nut to upper string clasp = 1.5''
Total string length needed is roughly 40''.
Anybody know if the GHS Crossovers will work on the Big KIDD EUB?

Crossovers have a 46.5” winding length, from outside of ball to the silk. Keep in mind, they have standard, bass guitar-sized (1/4”) ball ends.

just an FYI, we’re going to be moving the Crossovers from the GHS into the Innovation family in the next couple months, to keep all our DB/EUB offerings in the same family.

It seems they will be long enough, but I am unsure as to whether the pickups will work with them (or some other unforeseen incompatibility).

A very knowledgeable luthier told me they would not work, but I think he might have thought I was playing the KYDD small-scale model.

The Crossovers have 46.5" winding length, from the outside of the ball to where the silk starts. As long as the silked end clears the nut/clamp and the ball ends work with the KYDD tailpiece, you should be fine.

Are they still using piezos for the Big Kydd? If so, there shouldn't be any issue. And even if they're using magnetic pickups at this point, the Crossovers are nickel-iron, which are highly magnetic.

Either way, you'll have no issue getting sound with the Crossovers.

We've been pretty specific in making sure people know the Crossovers are for the NS Design EUB, mainly because of how they're made. I'm sure your luthier was taking this into consideration when advising you against it, although in looking at the Big Kydd (I only have experience with the Carry-On model I had years ago) and your specs, I think they will work.

However, I'd take one string out of the package and put it against the instrument FIRST, just to make sure that they will work.
