What are you currently listening to?

KoKo Taylors "Jump for Joy" cd. She passed away this summer and I miss her, she is one of the modern day Queens of the Blues. Her bands always rip it up and this particular cd has the Allisons trade marks all over it.
Also listening to PineTop with Muddy Waters, Piney will be on tour again soon and will be 97 years old this year, ya think hes seen a few things??? hahahaha!!! Doc

as far as newer stuff goes: i've been listening to the Tedeschi Trucks Band album revelator. Umphrey's McGee Death by Stereo (on vinyl if i'm home on my iphone if i'm not. Warren Haynes Man in Motion (on vinyl at home, on my phone if i'm not).

Just finished with Stravinsky's Firebird Suite. It's always good.

As I was listening to the slower parts, I was wondering if they could be duplicated on BG. It would be good for working on my timing. There's a bit of arco that would be a bit tough to duplicate.

I recently got hooked up with a dropbox group and in the last few weeks I've received the complete Tom Waits catalog, complete Steve Earle catalog, Complete Neil Young catalog, Les Claypool, Jessica Lea Mayfield, Probot, Buckethead, Steep Canyon Rangers, Wet Willie, and Wilco to name a few.

I have a tendency to drop a disk in the boom box in my shop and just leave it there for months. Currently it's Dirty South from Drive By Truckers.

A friend gave me a miscellany of Shane Theriot, which I'm now digesting. Ridiculously funky guitar playing. This guy has chops in the Jeff Beck class, but a grittier touch. He'd sound equally good in ZZ Top or Steely Dan, which is saying something.
