What are you guys working on?

Keeping my cool at rehearsal. Drummer and a fairly new guitar player don't practice. The guitar player will try to learn something in 15 minutes. Uh, no. Then they show up at rehearsal to learn a song from myself and the other guitar player. I finally kinda lost it last week but, had to slow my role. I stopped a couple of songs after I'd had enough of the guitar players fishing expedition and the drummers failure to change beat where needed.

I looked at both of them and said: "This has gone on long enough"! "This is f%#@& rehearsal not practice"! "If you can't understand the difference we have a problem". "I'm not wasting time here to teach you two what I learned at home. Just like the both of you should have". "Learn it at home, put it together here "! Rehearsal was pretty quiet after that. The fun of being BL.

Thanks. This would reduce the clutter and make it a breeze to transition to a B part. B part I can see the horns playing sparse muted stabs with the introduction of a new instrument like a B3.
I kinda hear like a bell/chime/xylophone in slow whole notes.

But, yeah dude. Try out whatever. As long as you don't stop, you'll find what works best and getter going again. It's a cool track.

I'm working on writing and recording my third full length album. The album is a little more than halfway done. I wrote the lyrics to 2 songs tonight, which are the final ones for this album. All that's left is to record about 4 songs in their entirety (basses, drums, vocals, and other instruments), promote it, and release it. I'm hoping to be finished with the album by Fall 2024.

I'm also trying to better promote my first two albums that I released last year (see below). Promotion is my biggest obstacle because I'm not a fan of social media (for personal reasons) and I don't have a record contract or anything fancy like that.

I’m back to share a video! I don’t make videos much… in fact, my wife made this one and it’s good she did, otherwise one would probably never get made.

Last winter, we did this instrumental arrangement of a little-known Prince tune off of his “Symbol” album in 1991. Sexy M.F is probably the best-known song from this record.

Anyway, I did all of the instruments other than sax, flute and piano (although I did do the piano in the bridge). I also did the engineering, mixing, and mastering.

Please be generous with your praise 😂

I'm working on completing an album's worth of tracks and as a side project I'm using outtakes and not-fitting tracks to complete a side album (or whatever you want to call it). For this I snatched a drum part from another song, looped it and played stuff on top. No bass guitar but at least some low stuff on a synthesizer.
