The Three Muskateers - Alexandre Dumas

Classic tale of the Four Muskateers. Swashbuckling adventure, political intrigue, drama, maidens , romance, Religious deviousness, duels, swordfights, near war between nations (England and France), assassinations, captures, escapes. Everything a reader could possibly want.
Very well written, but tends to run very long - although at least the number of the cast of characters is reasonable. Author was really able to make complete believable characters out of everybody.
Dumas is an excellent craftsman writer. also enjoyed The Count of Monte Cristo.

I don't read much anymore honestly; the last full book I read was Life of Pi, also for school.

Really liked this book! I don't even understand how they could have tried to make a movie out of this book! What a cool, involved tale! Highly recommend!

The Thirty Years War wasn't much better. CV Wedgewood's account is stellar.

On a lighter note I'm also on a reread of the entire Wheel of Time series.

A question of Character... a startling expose of how completely corrupt and hollow the entire Kennedy family was and is. If you have ever doubted that the version of history taught in schools is revised, you should read this book.

Thank God for footnotes! Had to double and triple read a lot of passages. Lots of wordplay both by the characters and the narrator.

He was very critical of the prosecution's performance, as well as it becoming the Mark Fuhrman trial.
