What are your lightest/heaviest basses?...

Lightest- Dingwall ABZ 5- 7.5lbs
Heaviest- Brubaker Xtreme- 10ish lbs

heaviest = 7.8 lbs. (fretless PJ)
lightest = 6.2 lbs. (fretless P)
average of six axes = 6.95

Haven’t weighed my Precision & Jazz basses but they’re on the lighter side. Maybe 9 and some change each.

You really should consider a basswood body. I was also surprised that I liked the sound so much.

I haven't got the two weeks it would take to weigh all my basses to find out which is the heaviest and which is the lightest.
I had a early 90s ATK, it was a little on the heavy side, it was my main gigger for a few years!View attachment 3988653 Do you gravitate towards boat anchors, featherweights or a mix of both? My Dano weighs in at 6.8lbs (which includes a Reverend chrome arm rest) and the sit-down battle axe of my collection is the ATK at a whopping 11.6lbs. How important is weight to you? I've heard some people say they won't ever buy a bass over 9lbs. I guess it depends on what you're gonna do with it. I would never want to play a gig with something like that ATK but for sitting down and noodling around with... Why not? I guess if I had to put a number on it, over 9.2lbs is when a bass starts to feel a little cumbersome to me. Do you have a cut-off point when it comes to weight? Please share.

Lightest: Fender Ashbory round 3 pounds.
Heaviest: The Mothman 15.05 pounds.

Lightest is a Mensinger Leaf at 7 1/2 pounds and heaviest is a Yamaha TRB6-Pii at 12 1/2, both of them are in regular live rotation and both of them proclaim considerable bootay.
Not sure if all of them are. This particular one is. By far the most comfortable bass I’ve ever owned. Not just because of the weight. But the playability is supreme.
Couple Fenders in the 10 lb, 6 oz range (avatar). And a Duesy that is just a tick below 8.

I'm not sure of the exact weights, but my lightest is my Squier CV Precision and my heaviest is my Sterling Stingray.
