I remember when SWR was mainstream boutique gear. Sad if Fender is phasing them out. Fender bass amps usually sound good, but they are like Hyundai or Kia. Every 3 years or so the whole line changes for the next trend.

I would rather have a company who make subtle improvements to their good products.

SWR gear still sounds great IMO and many of the hot amps are from the "tone tree" of SWR.

I had an SM-500 for a couple of years. Talkbass helped immensely to take SWR out, though. Not that I cared at the time...until I went to sell it!!! Should have just kept it at that rate.

I had a working man pro combo few years ago that was a good little practice amp. I think for a while Duff was a SWR guy.

SWR stuff has gone down hill big time the last few years....you see fewer and fewer of there rigs. i think they are down to just the Goliath and Golight cabs and almost all are 10" loaded cabs with the exception of the working pro and a 15 and 12 in the Golight series. Man i remember 10 years ago they had a lot of Stuff and looked like they were going places...now they have really gone to the birds almost like Eden you dont hear much about them anymore. Kinda sad really!!

I've had The Workingmans 4x10 and 1x15 for years as my "throw 'em in the van" cabinets. I disabled the tweeters in 'em cos they were awful. Other than that they're bulletproof. I still use 'em. Great cabs.
