What bass amp do you recommend ?

Im thinking about buying a new amp .Im playing for 3 years and have a peavy 20 watt micro bass amp which i am using with a danelectro dc bass.I only practice at home and don't have a band so I don't need a big amp for gigging .I thought about the fender rumble 60 is it good ? any other good amps you can recommend ?

not sure i'd upgrade without a reason. but there are tons of little amps out there where you could upgrade. Acoustic, Line 6, GK, Peavey, Fender...tons of them.

I'd suggest watching the T.B. classifieds for a used combo.
You can probably find a amp that will far out shine the Rumble 60.
I've played the Fender Rumble series of amps, (local store carries them all), IMHO, the 210 Rumble is the best of the bunch. For my ears the Rumble 60 sounded very "boxy".
I'd also suggest your checking out G.C.'s line of Acoustic combos.
G.C. Acoustic has a very nice sounding 100 watt, 1-15" and horn combo amp that probably comes in at roughly what the 60 watt, 1-12 Fender does.

I'd hafta agree with Jimmy again, don't really have a *need* to upgrade, then why do it. Also, the difference between a 20 watt practice amp, and a larger 60 watt practice amp, is very little. Now, if you were to really upgrade, say 250 watts and multiple speakers, that's a different story.

Sometimes upgrading, or simply changing gear can be just the thing you need to break out of a rut or motivate you to greater heights! I played through a Fender rumble once and thought it sounded quite good, and with 3 times the power through a cab with 3 times the displacement, it will be noticeably (not sure it thats really a word) louder and deeper.

I'd say Ronnelamir has out grown his 20 watt micro.
Something that sounds better will motivate a newer player to rehearse/learn more.
Besides....
The one thing I've learned here at T.B.
99.999% of the bassist on this forum change equipment not on... *need* ... but on what is the latest and greatest.

+ 1 on that. I recently pulled my Ashdown Mag300 2x10 combo off the stage at my church and brought it home because too many people could access it without permission. I have an Ibanez Soundwave 20 at home that is good for what it is (real good actually) but pales in tone. Now I have practiced more at home this week than in months just because I enjoy the tone. That amp could be found used for about $400 and with an extension cab can play all but the larger gigs. Certainly any club.

Now i am stuck with the churches Hartke3500. I pray I can get a good tone out of that thing! Good luck dude.

+1 to buying new gear can motivate you to play more, and therefore get better..

a "cheap" amp that i always thought was nice was the ampeg BA115. if your into head/cab combos a GK silver face 400RB off ebay paired with anything will treat you right.

++1 I would agree those little acoustic are pretty nice little amps for the money they have a cool feature that lets you dial your amp to fit your playing such as gospel growl, to funky slap. I'd check craigslist.com as well you can find some ridicules deals on there. Like 4x10s for a 100 bucks. But the key is keeping your eyes open and research the the amp market. Good luck amp hunting.;)

Another vote to do it. Sounding better makes one want to play more. Also be aware that you never know if you will eventually play in a band o not. I never thought I would and chose bass as a hobby. However, just like my 1st teacher told me......sooner or later you're gonna play out.......
