Thunder: It's got slightly different electronics now (a third knob). The pickups are both further from the bridge than a standard J (a deeper, throatier response), and the pickups are mixed (in one of the modes) by a crossover blend circuit. Let's just say it's J-ish in the treble region, but the low end is very P-ish, and the mids are in between. The other mode is very J-ish from top to bottom.
