What bass is Jeff Walker using here (Metal Alert!!)

Korean-made Aria Pro II Magna Series 5 string. Can't be absolutely certain, but looks like the passive version. Very close string spacing & very slick neck. Quite nice & growly down the bottom end but won't take a high-C

The build quality is pretty good on these, but a proper early '80s Matsumoku-era example will wipe the floor with it.

The earlier 5-string is the RSB Deluxe-5 model - twin soapbars, series/parallel switching, more rounded body profile, chunkier neck, classic Aria sound & will take a high-C.

have to agree there.

Older arias are big, heavy and chunky.
Newer ones are lighter in both weight, feel and sound.

The current arias are alot better than the 90s ones (my gf has one), but i still quite like the older 90s ones. Granted they can feel a bit cheap, but they play really well for a dirt cheap bass! They also sound great with better pickups!

Agree on the Aria Pro, the body fooled me for an Ibanez there for a sec. I would recommend to you to check out the Ibanez Prestige SR series.

now just a side question here and I don't mean to offend anyone, but i've listened to like 5 clips of these guys like 10 times and I can't hear any bass.

Can you guys REALLY hear the bassline?

Maybe it's just I'm not use to the HEAVY distortion (I'm guessing it must be super heavy because I definately don't hear bass).

depends which clips you're listening to, the earlier stuff from Reek of Petrefaction has a reasonably prominent bass line IIRC, and the live stuff is obviously more bass heavy.
