What bass is Jeff Walker using here (Metal Alert!!)

I think its an aria pro 2, going by the headstock. And the wee carved out like bit at the lower horn. Its similar to the one on one of mine.

Im pretty sure its an Aria pro 2 going by the pickups aswell, ive seen a few of thier models with the J pups positioned like that.

It could also be an Ibanez TR or TRB (going by the headstock logo), but, im pretty sure its an Aria Pro II

Something similar to this, different pickup and in 5 string tho?

cheers for all the responses.

@BassAgent: I've never heard of Samick, I will do some digging around
@Mohawk: that headstock does look pretty damn close :)

Reason being is that I was watching Wake up and smell the carcass today and I've got really bad GAS to play a 5er. I have been looking at a few different (more modern) basses but I love the look of that bass Jeff is playing.

@MaskedJackel: lol yeah Jeff's bass was never exactly prominent :)

tbh I'd like to try one of them purely based on looks, I love Carcass, I think they're great, however I wouldn't choose which bass to buy based on what any artist plays.

saying that, ever since I watched that DVD, I've been quietly Gassing for that bass, just a niggle here and there, and I'd like to try one out and see if I like it.

as for Ibanez 5's I'm seriously considering it, I'm playing an sr500 at the moment and I love the ibanez necks. Was also looking at the LTD B155, which is reasonably cheap over here, so not too much lost if I find a 5er isn't for me :)

thanks for the reply

Aria Pro IIs are pretty decent basses, well, the cheapy ones are anyways.

Ive got two, a fretted and a fretless, the fretted one has been modified by addition of DiMarzio pickups and tons of switching options. The fretless one will get new pups in time too.

The only things i dont like about them are:

A) They are really light, i dont like light basses, i like nice heavy ones!
B) The finish is really really cheap thick plastic like stuff :p

That's cool you want to play 5 after listening to the Carc...but why the exact same one as Jeff? He wasn't really one for prominent bass tone :\

Basswise, I'd guess Ibanez. I believe they were sponsored around this time (Necroticism-era), and DEFINITELY by Heartwork-era (they actually thank Ibanez UK in the liner notes).

on this video, it is an aria

but masked jackal, have you ever seen the heartwork video? on it he uses an hollowbody bass...

haha, just watched through my dvd again and I'm pretty sure it is an aria pro II :)

now to find which one :) I've never played an Aria before. anyone know what they're like?

ta for the help

i tried an aria pro II , alike the one mohawk posted; it was ok.
i guess they come in an array of quality also, the one i played felt a bit cheap.
I am a lucky owner of an Aria pro II sb-900. Look for something in the SB series, they are so great. The sound is huge, and the playability is a dream. i guess those sb's is a better bet than the cheaper aria pro II's

Most definitely. That's got to be a novelty though- from what I can tell longscale hollowbodies are a rarity, so how could a shortscale one handle a B string? Knowing Jeff, he's getting a kick out of using a Beatle bass in a melodic death metal video.
