What bass is this?

I purchased an american made washburn bass several years ago on ebay. As the years have gone on I have never seen another one like it and I have searched everywhere. I contacted washburn and the serial pulls the bass up as an XB900 but heres the weird part, this bass is a 5 string and Washburn never made a 5 string XB900. The model XB900 is a 4 string. Now I know they make XB925 5 string basses and this one has the same neck and body style but it uses the basslines mm style pickup and electronics and its a solid swamp ash body trans blue so its certainly not a 925. This bass also uses the buzz feiten tuning system. I can take pics if needed. Whats the deal? Is this a prototype or a one of a kind custom job? Its the best bass I have ever played with out a doubt. please someone help.

I had a Washburn 6 string that somebody had customed ordered, and then never picked up. It had all sorts of bells and whistles on it, and was like no Washburn I had ever seen. Maybe you found one that was also some kind of custom order? If I remember right, it was an XB600. When I went to sell it, the first person that tried it, bought it. He couldn't believe it was a Washburn because of all the custom features.

Ive got an XB 600 6er actually..that im in the process of refinishing. Its a monster bass on its own without mods...especially for its price. The neck is a TANK....never needed adjusting...

Heres a body pic, have to resize the other shots.

According to the serial number I am lol. Any thoughts? Also the electronics while perfectly fine and functional do seem a little rushed like the person was in a hurry, wires are kinds sloppy but the soldering is fine though.

I had a Washburn Bantam RB2000 5 string similar to this (but a 5er, obviously):

I had a Bartolini pup on it when I got it, but had the original washburn with it.

I didn't like it - the B was poor, so I sold it on, but with the original pup on.

When I changed the pup to the original the B & the general tone was *much* better - in fact I tried to put the sale off, as it sounded so good, however a deal is a deal.

I'd have the same again in a minute. hang on, I've found a pic:

I love the USA bantams and the rb's were great too, I particular liked the one with buzz feiten and the hammerhead brass insert headstock. I regret not buying one years ago. This bass is a 5 string version of a 4 string bass, washburn has never officially made a 5 string xb 900 (or what should be called a xb 905) and the best i can can gather is this was a one shot custom that may have been a test build or a custom instrument. The low B is great but i strung it high c instead. i really want another one so I can have the low B tuning but sadly this may be the only one ever made and I don't know any way to find out if there is another one out there. I forgot the name of the ebay seller who sold it too me but i remember he got it from a store on ebay for dirt cheap. I would offer a finders fee if someone could find me another.
