What bass should i buy?

Hey guys. Lately i was think of buying another bass for me and i really have a trouble of choosing one..
I wish one of these three:

A spector 5 string bass(Europe or Usa, preferably set neck)
or a Musicman stringray 5
or a 70's original vintage jazz bass

Any help??

well i currently have a customized highway jazz bass. Style, well currently i m in an american rock band but i don t plan to stick forever with the same style

U seem to already have a Jazz bass.......a lot of Js from the 70s are dogs and are highly problematic.......the StingRay HH would supply a large variety of tones that should keep you busy for awhile......

o and btw i love jazz basses.. but i really don t know which one to pick. A lot of people tell me to get a different bass from a jazz bass due that i already have one but that doesn t bug me...

Get the Ray, why have two of the same bass, unless you're going to sell the one you like less?

Have you tried any of these? Let your ears, playing style and wallet be the judge. All good basses. Can't go wrong with any.

Spectors are nice but do not have a "signiture" sound or their own voice.

I'd get a '70's Jazz Bass if you can, aside from being a great bass it would be the only one that would appreciate over time.

I didn't say that to discourage you, BTW.........there are scores of kick ass '70s basses out there........just be careful...letting your ears, hands, and wallet be the judge is great advice......The Stingray HH just seems to be very complimentary to what you already have...

If I was looking for something to augment my tone library I'd take the StingRay, but since I'm a whore for vintage Fenders the Jazz would be very attractive. My advice? Buy the Jazz, sell the one you have now and get a StingRay. If you want something growly I'd take a Warwick with MECs over a Spector with EMGs.

Personally I would avoid buying a bass from ebay unless there is a 100% return policy, how are you going to be able to check it out? As far as depreciation, yeah, the Jazz will continuously escalate, but the Stingray has excellent staying power financially. I'd go with the 'Ray just out of preference. They sound increadible with tons of tonal options and a solid design, plus a lil' bit-o-soul. Spector's are good if you're playing really loud and hard. I'm not a big fan of them because they lack character definition, really kinda lifeless and "flat" sounding. -*flat as in hollow tone, not detuned* All my opinion, of course.

What is your budget looking like? If it were me (and I had the money), I would go for the Musicman. Those bass guitars are unbelievable comfortable and sound incredible.

The 'Ray is a fine instrument, but just to throw it out there: Have you considered a P bass?
