What Bass Was The Biggest DISAPPOINTMENT?

Rickenbacker 4003 didn't buy it though, and glad I didn't buy one without trying it first.
Stupid high action, yet it still buzzed all over the place, and the binding bit my arm like hell(though I could have learned to avoid that), neck wasn't great either. Prefered my knockoff by far.

Fender American Standard Jazz. It was what I lusted over for a long time but I eventually came to the conclusion that it just wasn't worth the money to me.
The Epiphone EB3, couldn't get one quick enough when I heard they were out. Where to start???
The pups are all wrong, nothing like the original in sound.

Interesting how different are people tastes.
I have a Fender Geddy Lee and a Ernie Ball MM SR 5 HH and I love them, regardless they are very different.
I´ve played on a Warwick Fortress One. I liked the tone, but I think the neck contour (too thick ) isn´t good for me.
I wonder if I could think the same about the Ricks (that I love - sound and look)
Maybe it is just a matter of time to get used to it.
Once I played a Tobias Growler. I didn´t like the finish , string tension , action. Seemed to me it has a worst finish than my old Tobias Toby Pro (Korean). The Toby wasn´t great about eletronics (cheap pickups and eletronics) , but build and construction is OK. Mine had the eletronics replaced by a Bartolini preamp. What a difference !

I had a Gibson T-Bird (early 90's), unbalanced and the worst neck ever, but it still looked cool...
I bought a Spector Euro 5 because I heard one in concert and loved the tone. As a guy who plays mostly Fender style basses, I couldn't get used to the way this bass felt........bummer because I loved the tone but hated the way it felt, especially playing live. Traded it for a 57 reissue P Bass, much better.
I really liked the look of the Fender Jazz Deluxe 5 I bought in 2000 but as soon as the new strings started to play in and reveal the real body and tone of the bass it was horribly weak, B string had no solidity to it and the consistency and sustain all over the board was pretty poor, sun/b with a pearl plate but I didn't have it for long, couldn't justify it as an ornament. 
seconded. I tried so hard to like it. The tone is this compressed sounding, growly thing.
WowI never thought that Warwick would receive a beating like this hehe

I owned a Warwick once as well. I sold it within a couple of months. Nice bass but not for me.
1992 Warwick Corvette standard 5-string MEC passive pups - neck was way too chunky and the sound was just flat, dull and lifeless. ugh. Traded it in for a Hamer Cruise bass with a 2tek bridge that I still play today.

Mine sounded wonderful, but the ergonomics were terrible.
