Sire shows the tobacco burst in alder and ash. I'm thinking this is alder due to the straight grain.

Ash..Need help, what kind of wood is this one in the image? It should be alder or ash. Thanks!
I would say Ash. Sometimes it can be hard to tell because ash usually has a very distinct grain pattern but it depends on how its cut and the tree, etc.
Makers who use both often use ash for the transparent finishes and alder for the painted ones.

Isnt the Sire V7 with sunburst and maple should be ash.
