What bass?

Ok so I sold my Starforce bass and my Harley Benton 5 string (Rubbish bass)
I now have some cash burning a hole in my pocket....but not a lot
I can possibly spend €400

I would prefer to buy from Thomann.de as I can get stuff from them VAT free so that means I could get a bass worth close to €500 retail

I was going to get an Ibanez SR370 but its out of stock for another 6 weeks

Only main caveats I have is it has to be 4 String and not a Fender style body...I just don't like them

I know my budget isn't the biggest, but hoping to get the best bang for buck
I'll be playing only at home and i'll be playing stuff like Rage, Soundgarden, Cure, Pearl Jam

I don't mind also buying used...its just I wouldn't know what to look for

Sire M3 is a great deal, extremely flexible bass for not so much money. I got mine from Thomann shipped to the USA last year.

Honestly, I would hold out for that Ibanez. If it is a model you like, a few weeks isn't a big deal. Ibanez basses are great quality for the money. And if that model got your attention, wait for it....or shop their site for one very similar. The differences in the same price range will be small.

there is also a guy about 1.5 hours drive from me selling an SR700 for about €400 used.
They are about €700 ish new....So kinda seeing if he can meet me halfway. Wouldn't mind getting that used.

I hadn't even considered them until I saw the blue M7. Going to get that. Will add the cash needed but think I can get it for about €450

Great! I had my eye on that one myself. I still may get one someday.

Sr700 is a wonderful bass, been serving me well for a while. And 400€ is a pretty good price too

I think you'll be surprised at the quality of that Sire if you decide to get it. Having a high quality bass for such a low price, brand new, seems like cheating in a way.

I'm an Ibanez fanboy, but the Sire's have a great reputation. I don't think you will be disappointed with either purchase.
