What bodies are warmoth SS necks compatible with?

Trying to fancy up a used fender bronco and I was wondering if I could swap the neck for either of the Warmoth SS models. If not this body, what other short or normal scale bodies would be compatible? Is there an online resource where I could find these specific measurements myself? First build and any advice is welcome.

I think, per Warmoth's website, their SS necks are only made to fit the Warmoth Short Scale bodies they make. I don't think it's a drop-in replacement for anything else on the market.

I understand its not SUPPOSED to be compatible, but i was wondering if by chance any crafty builders had made the neck work on anything else. I got the width measurement being 60mm (2.362'), im sure theres gotta be some body that would fit that.

Maybe a bit of a crazy idea, but ive considered using a mustang guitar body and just widening the neck pocket from 56mm to 60mm. That should be all you need to make it compatible right?

You would need to evenly remove material from both sides of the pocket, unsure about the length or depth.
Any predrilled holes or routing won't be in the right location for a bass.

Was considering a warmouth body without predrilled holes. Ill probably end up going for a generic warmoth SSB body, less work.

I'm currently trying to match a Warmoth SSB neck to a cheap body, but no luck. I sent them an email asking about both the Classic Vibe and the Vintera Mustang bodies and it's a negative. I wonder how much shaving the sides of the Warmoth neck will affect it.

To my knowledge no one has ever used or modified one of our SSB necks with to work with any other body. While it's not impossible for someone who knows what they're doing, it sure seems like a pain in the butt.

you may be able to get a body blank from them for a SSB with the neck pocket and other routing done already so you can design your own shape .

Those neck pockets are 2.25” at the heel, too narrow for the warmoth. Try the Squier Jaguar H body, the neck pocket is closer to 2.5”, though you’d have to move the bridge forward an inch or so because it’s intended for a 32” scale neck.

I wonder if I could just sand the neck pocket down to make the Warmoth neck fit since the body will be much cheaper than the neck. I suppose then I would need to cut the pick guard down to fit if I'm sanding 1/4". hmm

Really unfortunate that you offer zero necks for any of the short scale basses out there. There's a missed business opportunity there, and I'm sure you realize that. Being able to buy a fretless short scale neck that works on an existing Fender/Squier/Ibanez short scale bass is a dream of many here and has been expressed many times.

I sanded the sides of the heel of my Warmoth 30" scale neck to fit a more narrow neck pocket. The only issue I had was being careful to remove the same amount from each side (or close enough to it). I didn't notice any negative impact on the neck other than requiring some fret ends to need to be re-dressed but it wasn't a problem using my fret file.
