What Bose LIKE Sound System Could This Be?

I knew a guy that used a sound system that consisted of 2 towers(actually 2 pieces each), and two subs.
It wasn't as small as a Bose L1, but looked similar except the subs were larger.

He ran his whole band's sound(4 piece claasic rock) through it without issue, and they were loud. I know a Bose L1 system can't handle what they did. I wouldn't have thought it was possible except I saw them play live with it.

Does anyone know what this could've been?

I cannot locate him or I would ask him what that was.

This may be dated information but for a few years our classic rock band played through the Fender Expo system. Each of us bought one system for around $800 and we had great luck with them for a few years. They were good for our indoor shows but were kind of lacking on volume in an outside setting.

And for the life of me I never could figure out how we would put two in a "normal" position out front, and two on each side of the drummer in a "monitor" position and run all 4 of them wide open with no feedback issues even though they were behind our mics. I asked many people and they all told me "that won't work" but it did. We had a Mackie board, left to two on that side, right to the other two. It was so simple a full range in and out on each one with XLR's, just didn't make sense that it worked. Someone smarter than me can maybe tell me why it worked. They were light, like 35-40 lbs for the bass unit and the tops just snapped in. I don't think they even make them anymore.

No matter now because I left that band and started a new 3 pc with the guitarist. We sold them to a DJ friend who still uses them successfully and loves them. We bought some Mackie powered speakers that would better handle indoor and outdoor events for the band.

Here's a gig with them, hard to see but they're there.

Here's another image of them in place, all 4 were behind us.

I took a look at the Bose PA speaker site and didn't see anything obvious. Could it have been two L1s together?

No it wasn't a Bose because I remember asking him later if it was a Bose and he said no, he told me but of course I forgot.

Our band is trying to downsize a bit and the BL asked me about a Bose system. I heard one band trying to use a set of L1s and they just couldn't cut it for what they were trying to run through it.
I was trying to see what was out there that could work.

Thanks!
