I love Schro cabs, as I've had 3, but it didn't do my B strings on my Quantums any justice. Was a 210212L.

I a/b'd it right next to a Whappo "Sr" and there was no contest. If his requirement wasn't to be able to handle a kickass B, I'd recommend them no sweat.

IMO, it seems from the artists you list that maybe a Bergantino NV 610 would fit the bill. Its not much bigger than most 410s, and it gets a great old school sound. I use mine with a 5 string, and it gets plenty of lows. If not the NV 610, I would also definitely check out the Bergantino HS 410.

I'm voting for Epifani again. Light weight, clear sound and plenty of lows. I can't express how much I love my UL310. However, I play upright and a 4 string bass guitar, I haven't ran a 5'er through it yet.

Sorry to sound pissy, but you've another thread running where people with experience have done exactly that, including myself. It's rude to ignore them and start another thread that asks essentially the same thing but ignores the advice of the others who have taken the time to try and help. Rant over, I just needed to vent a bit.

Actually, that thread....if YOU read the title is about an AMPEG SVT410HLF vs. an EDEN 410XST and also asks if I should get rid of it (my 410hlf). I have made the decision to do so. I figured that I would be easier to get more responses and get more in depth answers from those who responded on that thread as well as from people who did not. By creating a new one that expanded my topic.

I also felt that a new thread was in order because I am now asking a different question. I didn't know that I was being rude by starting a second and different thread comparing high end cabinets instead of trying to get a different series of questions answered that pertained to different equipment.

I might be new to this forum but I joined and wanted to be a SUPPORTING MEMBER because I liked the wealth of information that was available as well the people that were on here, I wanted to further enhance my skills and knowledge, but apparently for you that is a problem. That was a somewhat ignorant thing to say to me that I was "Being rude" for wanting to further investigate a topic. If you would like to insult me further please feel free to do so privately through the PM feature.

my fav cabs out are madison 410 , schroeder 412l and 210212 and my bergantino ht322 with a schroeder neo 12 in it.

I'll second that Schroeder 412L recommendation.

My motto is never play a blues or rock gig with anything less than a 4x10.

However, if I had an Eden wt800 (I use a Navigator pre plus Crown amp) I would go with two, more compact 8 Ohm cabs -- if portability is a big issue for you.

Although heavy, the Eden 2x10s are killer. Imagine two of them at 4 Ohms!

That being said, I use an SWR Goliath III 4x10 for 9 out of 10 of my blues & R&B gigs...and to that I add my SWR 2x10 Goliath Junior for big outdoor shows and big halls with ****** sound systems.

I tried an SWR 6x10 at the music store and it blew me away...but I could never get that thing up a flight of stairs myself...a 4x10 is hard enough.

The more that I am thinking about it, it would be nice to have a nice light cab....which kind of points me towards Epifani or Schroeder. From the audio clip I have been able to find it the Epifani seems to sound better. How are the lows on this cab? I would probably get the 8ohm 410 so I could add a 12 or another 210 later....

I used to run an Eden power amp with an Eden 4 10 XLT.Sounded great but I switched to Schroeder stuff.Really cuts thru on loud gigs.As far as 2 10's and 2 12's in one cab,that's sort of what I have now.Two cabs though,a 1212R and 1210R.I like it better than my old Eden stuff(1-18,2-15,4-10,and 2-10) If you really like low end thump have you considered the Accugroove (sp?) cab that has something like a 15+12+10? (I think it's called El Whappo) I think 12's are a good compromise between a 15's thump and 10's quick response.

Skip the 410 cabs and just get a 610, you will be glad you did.

Depending on what you want for the styles you play - either a Bergantino NV610 or an Accugroove Whappo Jr. Different as day and night, but I loved them both.

The 412 and 210212 replaced the 310212. I'm not even sure if the 310212 was ever available with neo speakers.

I'm an Epifani fan and I almost exclusively play through their single-12's, both the T- and UL-series.
I've found them to work with the broadest range of heads, at least for my style and the sound I hear.
So I voted UL-410, even though my experience has been mainly with their 12's.

I've played through two T-410's stacked on top of eachother with their Quest II pre and a Lab Gruppen amp and the 410's just sounded really scooped to me, as do most 410's. I have a Quest pre and a Stewart 2.1 at home and I've never felt like it was very scooped with any other cabs so that lead me to believe it was mainly a function of the cabinets, along with room placement. The UL-series' neo drivers remedy some of that upper-mid oomph that I found lacking in the stacked T-410's but still, neither really tickled me like the 12's do.

Lots of people seem happy pairing their Eden heads with Eden cabs. It really depends on how much cab you wanna be lugging around. Another reason I went with the single-12's, especially the UL, is because of its very low weight. The 410XLT is no featherweight but if you've got a roomy car and a strong back, they can be quite manageable. I don't have a car so...
