What deal should i take

I have two deals going from craigslist right now. One for a fender mim jazz and the other for a peavy head with traynor cab no model numbers yet will post when I get them. I'll be trading either of these for a Nashville telecaster. What do you think is the better deal.

Alright it's a peavy mark 3 and he just says vintage traynor. Right now I have a squier cv 50s re issue and I love it and as far as a rig is concerned im apartment bound and a full time student with a job not to many gigs (mainly a guitar player) so idk how much I need it


Thanks for the help so far. I also forgot to mention I have about 400 in store credit at my local shop so if I get the jazz bass I can get a new amp from the shop or if I get the peavy and traynor i can get another bass. The shop usually has peavy fender hartke ibanez.

If you have no amp at all, I would go for it. But if you are satisfied with your amplication and don't think you will need a bigger one soon go for the bass.You Squire is probably same quality as the MIM, so unless you want the Jazz sound (I like it more than P) you should go for it then. You could also upgrade the MIM to basically whatever you want.

Mk III's are pretty decent, I have a Mk IV and love it.

Traynor never really impressed me much, although like Peavey, it's pretty solid stuff...

I was just given a really old Traynor monitor...still works, but not the greatest sounding stuff IMO.

Traynor & Peavey just keeps on tickin' for sure.

Like Swag mentioned, the MIM is about the same quality as your Squire....

I think I would actually go for the amp and cab...

Thanks for the help. Its a 2x15 btw it looks kinda beat up (any idea of the value)

Id say no, your not going to get good sound out of it at low volume. Two fifteens move whole lot of air. Your going to be trying to barely have it turned on, and its not going to sound good that way. Youd be much better off with good 10" or 12" low wattage but hifi sound combo for apt use imo. Less air movement means less heard by neighbors and sounds better in small room. Plus are you going to be able to easilly transport a 2x15 cab? Two single compact 15" cabs are much easier to get into cars then are single 2x15 cabs, as an example. Because of this Id pass on the amp deal.

Thanks. I've been thinking of the jazz also is the rumble the best amp in that price range? They have a decent used selection and I get great deals because I've been going there my whole musical life

The best bass amp? I'm not sure, but it is pretty decent. It has a 100 watts and a 15". It has a mid scoop which sounds awesome as well, but I am sure other amps have it too. It has wheels which is also nice. If you like that store's used collection, I would definitely look for a used GK of some sorts. Even if they are small, their combos sound great.

Im a aware but it's a really bad example of one in my opinion neck is terrible worse than any thing I've seen (not fender bashing there my favorite) I turned it into an esquire upgraded all the electronics cloth wiring switchcraft jack cts pots still sounds terrible just dosnt do it for me. But I just got pics of the jazz it's in bad shape so I may keep looking.
