What defines a good bassist?
A happy audience after the gig.
I was always told what made me a good bassist is that I owned a station wagon and a PA....
. . . Musical maturity, being okay with making everybody else sound better, the ability to hear the "big picture", and the necessary technique to make that all happen round out the definition of a good bassist, for me at least.
. . . And i really hope no one says "playing in the pocket".
Playing in the pocket.
Lol
WHY!!?!?!![]()
Because then you could have a giant pair of pants as a stage prop.
how do you explain this to a non-musician who asks why you are laughing hysterically?
Don't. Embrace the brilliance of an inside joke.
If you can score more chicks than the vocalist or guitarist, that is undeniable proof you are a great bassist.
