I haven't played many big big, but in my experience any gig with a sound guy meant they have their own DI.I have a huge question. So me and my band are starting to play bigger venues. When i play live will the venue mic my cab or use a direct box? Will they provide the direct box or mic?
I have a Peavey Tour 700 head and it has a Direct Interface plug in on the back of the head. Does that take place of a DI box?I haven't played many big big, but in my experience any gig with a sound guy meant they have their own DI.
They may mic you too, in my experience this hasn't happened - I use a grand total of 0 pedals though.
FWIW these days I play a head with a builtin DI just in case.
I don't know that model specifically, but I would strongly suspect so - try running that Direct-Interface line out to a PA desk sometime.I have a Peavey Tour 700 head and it has a Direct Interface plug in on the back of the head. Does that take place of a DI box?
Yes. There is no need for a DI box. In fact, if you are connected to the FOH through the amps DI, and the amp dies... The FOH will still get your signal. This happened to me... And Peavey fixed the amp for free in three days.I have a Peavey Tour 700 head and it has a Direct Interface plug in on the back of the head. Does that take place of a DI box?
The Boy Scout's motto also applies here: Be Prepared.Likely not. Ever gig I have ever played it is a gamble. Sometimes they have stuff, sometimes not. If you have your own i would bring it. Worst case you leave it in the car if they provide them.
