I hate PCs too...I hate any kind of computers.

If you are comfortable it's allright.My instructor taught me there's no correct way to play a certain instrument,comfort is all that matters.

Compare Billy Sheehan's and John Myung's techniques,they're both monsters on bass and their techniques are different on all levels.

You need to find a new instructor. Just from this one pic it's evident that there are some significant technique issues going on. However, I suggest that getting your life back up on the good foot might be a better priority right now.

^ Yeah, when I first started playing my hand would get all weird and tense trying to reach certain frets but my instructor told me to relax and that your reach will improve with time as along as you practice proper technique as to not hurt yourself.

Me: I am 5 ft 0 in tall, and have double jointed fingers.

In addition to reach, it's also about playing cleanly. The fretting hand plays an important role in muting open strings.
