What do you make with your scrapwood?

So, I've been at building bass guitars for a couple of years and I've tried to use a lot of different interesting woods, which has been a lot of fun. But, that means I have all of these wonderful scraps of offcuts. It would be a shame to throw them away!

I've built a few bass bodies out of these off-cuts, and I've built a couple of cribbage boards, and some keychains, and knobs.

I'm curious what kinds of things you all make with your scrap wood?

Saving bits of leftover lumber, scraps of fret wire, a extra bit of pearl, fretboard cut offs, and those tiny bits of surplus center seam inlay can serve as the basis for lovely desktop accessories boxes for musicians, plus it gives you good practice of all those skills needed to make great instruments! ;)

The Fretboard Summit, which just took place at Chicago's Old Town of music, held a "soap box derby" with cars made by custom guitar makers from their scrap wood.

One of the premium makers of hand made banjos would include a small wood car built from the neck blank off cuts, and he donated many more to a local children's charity. We should all be so like-minded. ;)

Well lets see, I've created the following with scraps.
Phone stand
Knobs
Incense burner
Round stone display
Glasses holder
Guitar Speaker cab
Case for Harmonic table controller
Stands to secure Linnstrument and Seaboards
Wooden bass bridges
Nuts
Backscratchers (usually out of neck through cut offs)
I used to make one for each bass sold, and it's made out of the same neck wood as the bass.

That's all I can remember at this point.

Sometimes I'll just take a piece of scrap offcut and sand it just leave it on my desk for decoration.

My best advice is use your imagination.

Scrap of any size goes in the scrap bin and eventually gets turned into all sorts of stuff. But one thing I bang out in batches are wooden whistles. Kids visit my shop regularly. Seems every parent that finds out what I do for a living wants their kids to see the shop. Of course I would love them all to leave with an expensive custom made instrument, but a free whistle is the next best thing.
