What do you set your Ampeg V4 on?

With respect to the "T" stack, with 4 speakers in a square, cab orientation doean't matter (laying it on a side). If you want to maintain the horizontal dispersion of a vertical driver alignment, I'd probably build an equipment case or something the same height as the cab and just set it beside it for your "wide cab" setup. Or make some other faux sidebox, stage prop or something.

No it's a 2x15 on a flat baffle with a very small port. Big and bulky and not a great design IME.

I thought something they made back then was an Acoustic style horn cab, but I'm not any sort of guru on Ampeg speaker history.
Yes that was the V4B cab. Deep 2x15 dual folded horn. A true beast!

and my cab came in! V4b + 2 Mesa Diesel 1x15's with evm 15L's.
I bet that getup sounds SUHWEET!
Presently my main rig is a Mesa Walkabout Scout 15" combo and matching cab and it kills!
I think I may have found it. There's a guy locally selling one of these (see attached pic). It's heavy, but I think I can get it at a good price. And it's about 1/4" shy of being the same width as the V4 (heck even I can live with that). Plus it will make for a great 4-10 to use when I feel like taking out my Walkabout head or GB Shuttle 6.0 with it. What do you guys think? Will it sound good with the V4?

Question rephrase. Have any of you guys put a V4 (or any old school tube amp) on top of this beast of a 4-10?
The 410HLF plays way deep bass, but lacks a little sensitivity in order to get there and doesn't have anything you'd call "aggresive" or "present" midrange. Takes a lot of power to play as loud as some other cabs with a bit less power pushing them.
It's a personal taste/tone thing. You might really like it, or you may find it coming up a little short with the smallish power tube amp at louder gig volumes.
They are solid and popular cabs though. If it turns out not your cup-o-tea, shouldn't have much trouble flipping it for a fair price.

So does anyone know if there is much tonal difference between the 410hlf and the PR410hlf? The latter is the one I'm going to look at shortly. Thanks.
Acoustic 404 (1x15), Acoustic 402 (2x15) and an Acoustic 406 wide (2x15) are all the same width as your V4 (26 1/2). I know you said you're looking for 10"s and 12"s, but these cabs would probably rock with the V4.
Mine fit's perfectly on top of my peavey 215d. Couple that with the fact that it's the best sounding rig I've ever had and it's pretty cool.
It does sound sweet! When I first got my v4b I also wanted a cab that matched the width of the head, just for looks preference. I quickly realized, after trying the diesel 1x15 out that it no longer mattered. The mid forwardness of the v4b + the diesel 15s creates such an aggressive in your face rig. The low end isnt abundant, but its tight and defined. While not having tried many cab combinations with the v4b I found the rock tone in my head, and to me it slays. Although I already have 2 diesel cabs I guarantee I will continue to pick them up when I see them, if I could get 4 to run the head at 2 ohms...oh god. I would like to try it out with some berg cabs aswell for a different flavor, specifically the NV series cabs. Never tried my v4b with a sealed cab but I imagine the diesels are similar in mid forwardness. Although the diesels are ported, like I said there isnt much low end. With the Avatar 212 neo I used to have, there was too much undefined low end, I got the diesels and it felt like the blanket came off the cabinet. No more mud, just rock.
