Hey all, I'm back at TB after a long, computerless time... just looking for some feedback/constructive criticism on my band's last gig. I know the sound quality's not the best, but anything helps :).
I just recently joined, and we're called The Dreams (and yes, we are trying to implement a name-change atm, but that's a different thread haha). This is our cover of Highway Star... the second time we've ever played this song live. :bassist: There's also a few other videos from that gig in the related videos section.

You all look like you're having a ton of fun and the song sounds quite good. The stage show and presence is there and I can see that the crowd feels the energy.

Great song to cover.

The only thing I'd suggest is that the rhythm needs a bit of control, but it's nothing too mission critical. It seems to want to roll away at times.

There's a lot of talent there and I think there's a lot for your band to look forward to!

Thanks for all the responses so far everyone! To Medford Bassman- Yeah, a sub would definitely help, and so would me having a more powerful amp :D. This gig I was playing out of an Acoustic B100 with PA support... and I'm competing with Marshall and Mesa/Boogie half stacks, so I was at that "just enough" level of volume :o. I'm definitely planning on upgrading my amp as soon as I can afford.

And yeah, we are pretty young as a whole. The lead guitarist and I are the oldest, both 17, the keyboardist is 14, rythmn is 13, and the drummer is about to be 16. I don't know about the rest of the band, but I've been playing for a bit less than 4 years, and I've been playing with them for about two months.

Thanks for the replies everyone! The camera work is usually done by the drummer's/rythmn guitarist's mom- they try to videotape each gig for both documentation and review. I didn't notice the kids running around in front when I was playing, but they made me laugh when I watched the video. :smug:

Highway Star was tight. Hey had a really nice breakdown in it.
Why don't you move the keys out to the front of the stage more though? usually, the singer should be the visual focus of the audience. It doesn't help that the guitarists (who share the prime real estate) stare down at their fretboards most of the time.

I really wish I could have had gig experience at you age though. That's pretty awesome.

As far as the positioning of people on the stage, it's kind of one of those things that they're reluctant to change just because "that's how we've always done it". Personally I would switch it up a bit too... I'd like to be closer to the keys/lead so I could better hear them, especially for solos and breaks where it's me and the lead playing the same line. I'm still pretty new to the band and don't have *as* much influence yet, but it's definitely something I want to bring up.
