Last night I tried hand sanitizer thought the alcohol would help Nope.

You did that to a friend's bass? If somebody did that to one of my instruments, they would no longer be a "friend".

I know this thread is probably no longer pertinent for the OP, but anti-perspirant works really well for clammy hands on a hot day. Not deodorant, just antiperspirant, like the roll-on stuff. I'd suggest using an unscented product targeted towards women. The unscented men's stuff still has scent in it, whereas the ladies' stuff doesn't.

I wash my hands before I play. Also regularly clean the neck and strings.

Licking fingers doesn't work for me, but the oil from nose/face does.
