what does BUMP mean...

when you post something in a thread or online, it tends to get lost as more people post and such. When you post a "bump" you're just moving it to the top of the list again so folks can see it.

The term "Bump" as used on internet forums hearkens back to the good old days of the arcade pinball machines. The skilled players would push their hips against the game chassis to manipulate the travel of the ball through the game. This had to be done with some subtley as the machines incorporated motion detectors that would invalidate the game when "bumped" too hard.
On forums this has become applied to the manipulation of the "New Posts" list by those who wish for more attention to their topic; usually by those who stand to profit (classifieds,) or those with a burning desire for attention or instant gratification.

I don't know how or why, because I don't find her overly attractive but for some inexplicable reason I'm in love with Alanis Morrisette and want to do naughty things to and with her. There I said it.
