What does it mean?

If you get a strong smell of what can only be described as a burning band-aid from the inside of your speaker. It has been this way for a long time and it doesn't seem to have any effect on anything, but I was curious if anyone else had this issue.

I'd open the cab if I were you and see if anything looks burnt.

I got an "over heated plastic" odor from an Acme B-2 cab the first couple of times I pushed it, but it was odor free after that.
After an email exchange with the manufacturer, we that some adhesive or something had gotten onto the crossover during construction and was off-gassing when it heated up.

I did open it up and there is what appears to be glue all over the crossover. Looks like it was put there on purpose.

Makers commonly squirt hot glue over components to stop them vibrating loose.

No, if it is hot glue it was probably put there for a reason.
