What does your russian muff's volume knob do ?

Hey !

I got a Pelitaur Fuzz (2 in 1 velcro fuzz / green russian scooped muff) and the output knob on the manufacturer's website is only described as a usual volume knob. But it's not.

I compared cranking the output knob of the fuzz VS cranking the master of my preamp pedal with the output of the fuzz at 1/3 and it doesn't sound the same.

When i crank the output knob of the fuzz, i guess it act like a boost. I say i guess cause i don't know. The sound becomes more compressed with a lot of hiss but also more harmonics. More like a synth sound as my Pharaoh does when i crank the volume knob.

And so i was wondering, is this specific to this pedal or does typical black/green russian muffs have this feature ?

Cause i like this nasty sound :D

That sounds almost like the volume knob has been wired in front of the circuit rather than at the back directly before the output. That's weird! But if you like it... =0)
