This may be a dumb question but I know next to nothing about bass effects pedals and such.

In this video:

What effect is the bassist using at the beginning and end of the song? I really love the Peter Hook-ish tone it's giving her. Do you think it's a pedal or is it an amp/tone knobs trick?

Also, Warpaint is a great band, you should check them out haha.

Surprisingly good band...and I was ready to give the rote "They suck!" response.
Thanks for bringing them to my attention.
I'll be playing one of their CDs at the next Bad Ass Bikers-Party Till You Drop convention.
If you don't see me posting here at TalkBass, you'll know I'm in the hospital, in traction and recovering.

Can't see the video posted but I looked for others -- there's a Boss Vibrato VB-2 on the guitar, and sounds like chorus on the bass.
