What goes through the stage monitors?

I had my bass (no amp), lead vocals, and my backup vocals in my monitor over the weekend.
Lead guitar was right next to me so I could hear his amp just fine, and I was right next to the drummer.
The mix wasn't pretty but I heard what I needed to hear.

So i just asked my guitarist who is in charge of the pa rental, apparently i dont sing so i dont even get a monitor!

Depending on where we are playing we run either just one mix or one for the front and one for the drummer. The drummer doesnt really care, but I tell the sound guy to put guitar and the lead vocals in his, and then in the front all three vox with the lead up a little more and then the guitar. When I used ears I wanted a full mix like the FOH.
