what happened to Danny Wilson?

I've been listening to some Wizard Island recently (after not listening since I had the album in early '80s). Dang, Danny Wilson is good! Anyone know what happened to him?

I've seen mentioned a few times that Danny Wilson played a Stingray. While that was true at certain times, the back of Jeff Lorber's Galaxian album states he plays an Oaks Bros. bass. His bass tone on that album has a beefy, thick and IMO superior tone to the Stingray. Take a listen to it and it's obviously not a Stingray. Anyone know anything about this bass? My guess it was built by a Portland area luthier.

I met Danny in 1983. Dont be fooled! He used a 76 stingray with old roundwound strings. I saw and played the bass. Whittier College. I found a recent post of him in Portland. Seems to be doing well.ATTACH=full]3687117[/ATTACH
