what happened to GB shuttle 3.0?

I just found out about this little amp and tried to find one new online and could not find it. It is no longer made? It is also not available used, which tells me bass players really like it in the 10-t combo configuration.

Is there a replacement / upgrade for it? I want to pair it with a Crazy 8 cab for portability and small venue play. Also I would really like to get a bracket with a handle like GB did on their 3.0 /10T combo to keep it together.

Any suggestions?

PS: My other new setup is going to be a Fearless F112 with a Mesa D800+ for the bigger venues, it will stay in my music room except when needed. The Crazy 8 will live in the entry hall, ready to get out there. Avoiding the stairs...

Hasn't been made for a few years. G-B was bought by Fender (search for threads here and you'll find a LOT about this) and no longer exists. However, their equipment is excellent and can be found used. I've been using a Shuttle 6.2 and a pair of Shuttle speakers for years, and have no plans to change. (BTW, there are reasons the Fender Rumble amps are so nice and light.....)

Whatever you want in G-B equipment will turn up used sooner or later here, on Ebay or Reverb. Be prepared to pay for it. People like their G-B gear and it doesn't turn over as often as most other brands.

Genzler Amplification is the new company founded by Jeff Genzler. Check it out.

If you do find one, servicing or repairing is easy-peasy, since the designer is a member here! Intersting how your other amp choice (D800) is his design as well!

I love my Shuttle 3.0-10t + 10t rig. He just took my amp in for service about a year ago. Quick turnaround too.

Watch the classifieds here, and you will certainly find one; but be ready to pull the trigger. They don't tend to sit long.

I had one and they are great little amps! A few close substitutes: Genzler Magellan 350 (Jeff was the owner of Genz Benz and Genzler was started by him a few years ago). Acoustic Image Clarus SL - I am currently using this amp as my gigging amp, 600 watts at 4 ohms, 2 1/2 lbs.

Both are available new, occasionally show up in TB classifieds used. The GB 3.0 shows up once in a while but as others above have noted, they don't show up often and sell quickly. If you are patient you'll snag one eventually.

PM me, I have a customer who may be willing to part with his back-up Shuttle 3.0. The saddles are still available, I have them in stock as a service part.

The Magellan 350 would also be an excellent choice imo.

or the Genzler 350 combo which includes the bracket and the BA10-2 cab. It is a killer little rig.
If you like the 350, the Genzler 800 has basically the same preamp so would sound virtually the same. Of course, the Mesa is a killer head as well if you prefer to have two different flavors.

Ok. So now I am reading way too much info and am getting confused and overwhelmed. 10-2 seems great, but with an 800 it's getting close to the f112 with D800+ size and weight wise, which I will also have. I am trying to stay super nimble. Any feedback on that crazy 8 that I didn't already read? The crazy 8 is 14 pds vs 10-2 21 and a size difference too. I'd like to do this once and call it good.

True that, I love TB. There are so many ways to approach music so that would be only natural. I have a friend locally who I will also ask, he has a lot of experience. All the options are going to work, it's just what will I go for. The real issue is of course that once I go for it I can't have GAS anymore, at least for a while, and I kinda like having GAS. :-)

Might want to confirm the thumbscrews and dimensions of the GB bracket will fit the Genzler. Unless of course Genzler offers a bracket as an aftermarket add on for their heads.

I'm in love with the concept. One of the things that sold me on the Shuttle was the easily removable amp. Locks on rock solid when it needs to but comes out in literally seconds if need be.

Ok, one of the guys who built the Crazy Eight and worked with Fearless on the design was Mike Arnopol. Mike’s got his own company now called MAS
Soundworks. He builds one of the lightest full range single 8 cabinets out there, I have one, so check it out. There is a very short clip of a bassist from Chicago playing one of Mike’s 1/8’a on Youtube.

I put the 350 in my shopping cart and I am still running through the isles drooling over all the goodies, looking to put the crazy 8 in my cart too.

So together they will weigh about 15-16 pounds, which is a hair less than the combo I currently use, a Fender Rumble 40. A bit of weight loss, smaller foot print and 310 extra watts not to mention the completely different sound profile.

My wallet will not mind a bit! That is a huge step up.

Although GB has been out of production a few years now, I see no need to abandon my Shuttles as my #1 rig. They've proven to be rock solid, modular, and sound great. I've not had a sound crew ever once complain about the DI either.
I have a 6.2-12 combo and a 9.2 as a backup. I can pair it with one of the 2 stl-12.2- ext cabs, or if I really need the horsepower, add the 2nd ext and run the 3 cabs off a Mesa D800, which goes down to 2ohms.
Short answer - don't hesitate to pick up a used shuttle. It will serve you well.

I use a shuttle 3.0/10 at home and love it. I started with a 3.0 head into my SWR goliath jr. 2x10. Picked up a 6.0/12 which is my main gigging amp. I add a 12 for big rooms.
I have been really happy. A plus for me is the 3 series does not have a cooling fan, which is nice when playing at low levels.
They do turn up and are worth the $, IMO

The 3.0 is a really beautiful sounding amp. It doesn't slam as hard esp. in the lows as some others but always sounds rich and detailed with a nice sparkle to the highs. And it does get loud - I've done some pretty big gigs with mine through larger cabs.
