What head should i get??

I've been looking at different, cheaper end bass heads for the past couple of weeks and havn't been able to try any out, sould someone give me a hand and point me in the direction of a good bass thats loud and has a good range of tone for about £300-£400
cheers

Which cabs are you going to use the Head with, how many ohms do they have, how many watts can they Watts handle, what's the Speaker configuration?
What kind of music do you play, How many musicians. Are there guitar players, or a loud drummer?
I myself have used a Laney RB-9 (easily available in the U.K) with 2 8Ohm cabs (4x10" & 1x15") These can get really loud if you crank up the volume. Very good, solid tone for rock, Blues and Metal Music.
