What in the World is Going on with My L1000 Controls?

I just received my EV Evolve 50 powered PA speaker yesterday and am testing it out.

The L1000 controls behave normally through regular bass amps. My other basses perform normally through the Evolve 50.

Are you using the Hi-z input? It sounds like you're plugged into a low-impedance input, that's what's causing the volume control to behave more like an on/off switch.

Thank you. I will try to switch the setting. I had no idea that would cause this to happen. The other basses that behaved normally all had EMG active pickups in them.

The output of Active pickups is driven by a preamp & is Low Impedance, which is why they are fine.
The pickups in the G&L are passive & the Impedance is high!
