What instrument cables do you use?

Not sure if this is the right forum, but It'll be used to plug into my amp... So....

I'm going on tour for my first time in a couple weeks, and I've been using the same cables since I was a lead guitar player about 6-7 years ago. They still work. But I'd like to have a backup since I'll be on the road.

What do you use?

I'm also still using my old guitar cable, for already 10 years or so. It's the planet waves rubber cable that you'll find anywhere. They're really fleible and the plugs are moulded onto the cable which helps a lot with pull relief (and to be honest that's the major risk any cable will face).

As for sound, they do sound better than those really cheap cables, but I can't hear any difference between quality cables of any make.

Actually I like the so much I bought another two cables, one with the mute switch at one of the ends, really convenient (e.g. you can use a clip on tuner and mute the cable).

They're cheap too and comes in all sorts of lengths.

youre going to get a lot of people saying this. but i use monster.

Not me. Waste of money, no better cable than any other. A warranty is useless when you're touring -because you want a cable NOW, and don't have time to run around and swap one for another - even if there is a lifetime warranty.

With good reason. "Monster" bass cables (besides being WAY over-priced) affect frequency response and have slightly over-sized 1/4" connectors that over-stress input jacks. Store markup last I knew was between 800 and 1200% depending on the cable.

Agreed. Don't waste money on them.

Any major brand cable works. If you tend to brutalize cables (it doesn't sound like it) go wireless and carry a couple of cables for backup.
