I am looking for an inexpensive cabinet to use for my double bass. I am planning on using my Markbass Little Mark 250 head with it. Any suggestions?

Double Bass What is a good inexpensive amp/cabinet?

If you can find one, the SWR Workingmans 10 extension cabinet is a decent Double Bass cab, and you can find them for a pretty low price usually. I would look for a used Bag End S12D, or S15D as well.

I'd take a look at the GK MBX extension cab. It's lightweight and sounds good. Sometimes you can pick one up used in the Talkbass Classifieds.
There's a EA VL-108, or at least there was recently, for sale in the DB classifieds. That'd be hip for $250 or so. For another $100, you could have Don build you a Low Down Sound 2x8. You'll wait a month, but it'll be worth it.
Double bass gear?
Yup! I use Avatar speakers, which I suppose are "leftover" from when I played e-bass. They work every bit as well. Lots of others I'm sure use Avatars for double bass (at least on RABB.com anyhow).
Am I missing something, is there any reason why Avatars would be less suitable for DB than some other cabinet?

They make a very nice 1-12 neo lightweight cab if that's your thing. I use their neo 2-10s and they sound great.

I went to the website, and it was not obvious the cabs could be used by DB players. (the ones I noticed were quite big)
Furthermore, the member who suggested them seems to play BG only. (according to this profile)
I know it went on eBay, but I don't know if it was sold.

I used an Avatar cab with a double bass for a while, it really did not sound right. It may be cheap, but I really think you'd be better off with something else. These cabs do not have a very wide dispersion and don't go super low, and sound muddy at a distance. But of course you may think its the best thing for you.
There are so many variables that come into play that I think ideally you would need to try out a few different cabinets with your set up to see what is the most effective. Generally I have found that cabinets with a lot of low end extension aren't necessarily the best for amplifying DB.
I would also second the Gallien Krueger MBX112. They are usually quite inexpensive on the used market, and they do sound good. 11 lbs too...
