what is a hybrid amp?

in this video, pete explains ( vaguely) how he achieves his sound by running a combination of the mosfet/tube.
essentially, i'm trying to figure out exactly how he does it. I don't own the svt 4 yet, but plan on it. but also, im tryin to figure out a cheaper alternative ( brands maybe] this is the video of still frame where pete is on the left. you can see two different amps. can anyone make out which amps these are?

I realize this post is 4 years old, but hopefully someone may shed some light on my poor curious soul. I'm wondering if you could use the ampeg svt 4 pro to run a combination of mosfet/tube. I recently seen a video of Pete charell of trapt saying he uses a combination of mosfet and tube amps. He runs the tube through two 4*10s and the mosfets through 2 15s. And I know he uses a svt 4 pro. Can this be achieved with just the svt4 or would you have to run a different mosfet amp on its own with also the svt4. If you watch the video to still frame, you can see two different amps, but I can't make out what they are. What would be a suggestion for a mosfet that could equal the power of the svt4 pro? Hope this makes since!

Yes... You can. On that amp, you can run the 2-410s on Channel A and the 2-115s on Channel B... Or vice versa. Provided that they are 8 ohm cabs. This will give you 600 watts per side at 4 ohms. I would also suggest using Neutrix Speakon ends and daisy chain the cabs per side.

No....You will get equal tone on both sides. The tube preamp sends a signal to both sides of the power amp.

If you listen to wasteland on the only thru the pain album, you can hear that grit. Or any song from the album. He also uses a Warwick which probably plays a big part in that. His amps are ampeg, but I'm confused on his setup. Like which two amps could you use for that particular set up.

From what he describes, he must have a unit that splits his bass signal then to the two amps. His description was pretty vague. He may or may not be using compressors, effects and things like that. Also, this may be just a set up for his live sound. Not sure if your trying to recreate his exact rig.... You would need to do more research on it if you are.
