What is "B" stock?

A local music chain is having a Fender B Stock sale.
What the heck is that?

Not that I'm going anywhere in public with this Omicron Covid going on.

I have a bass already.
So.ethi g that works, butdidnt pass quality control. Could be a seam showing in the body, some sort of finish defect, headstock a little wrong, something that caused it to fail quality control, although still functions as a new bass mechanically.

Hahaha, I've tried to do 4 strings. The only one I play is my parts P. I'm having serious issues with my sandberg grand dark being a 4 and not a 5. I need to sell it and find a 5 or trade plus cash for one. It's the best sounding bass I've ever played.

I just figured because it had that stock B string on there, it became B stock.

I have the opposite problem as you. I just can't play a bass with more than 4 strings. It just doesn't feel right to me.

I bought my Troy Sanders Jaguar from Thomann in 2020. It was listed as a B stock and about 25% cheaper than a new one.
I have no idea why it was sent back by the previous buyer as the bass is almost flawless... The only issue being a somewhat loose G string saddle, which was easily and cheaply solved by replacing the stock bridge with a Gotoh 203.

They even surprised me by including a hard case and a strap, as this model usually only comes with a gig bag.

So no regrets here, it's my #1 at the moment.
