What Is fEARful and What Does It Make

I love my 12/6! No surprise there I guess.

Mine is 36LBS and goes about as loud as a 310... maybe more. Most importantly it sounds just amazing... especially for its size.

I have maple veneer on the baffle currently, but I am in the process of staining both my cabs dark walnut.

If someone makes their plans freely available to everyone after having done the accoustic reasearch himself, how can I find fault with that.

I didn't understand and couldn't figure it out for myself.

I like the idea of the 12/6 because if later you decide to add a second 12/6 you will have one formidable rig capable of wonderous things.

Maybe this would be a better route for me, less to haul around.

This is why I have so much respect for Greenboy, the dude gave it away. Its a complete system too, from little darling 12/6s to the mother of all cabs 1515/66. Any size for anybody. I love mine, can't wait to build another. Makes it easy to be a fanboy.

PICTORIAL OF MY 15/6 BUILD HERE:

If you're fortunate enough to have a table saw, or if you get a local cabinet sop to make your pattern cuts, you'll be off & running. I had furniture clamps, but really didn't use them much during gluing; using wood screws held it all together.

The pride I had from building this rig was simply enormous. I've even made the offer that I'd build anyone's for them at no charge.. that's how much fun I had.

Ohhh thanks - they will both be for me. Two 15/6. They will be powered by my Carvin BX1500. My Dad doesn't play any music besides the volume nob, be he's a killer craftsman.

I'm trying to spend as much time with him while we can still do fun stuff together. Life is short = no regrets.

It is a good idea to mirror one baffle so that when you stack them on top of each other you can place the high-end drivers as close as possible to each other. That way they will not exhibit "comb filtering" from wave interference.

For example, from this page, look at the placement of the mid drivers on the 1515/66 :

They are stacked vertically to maximize horizontal dispersion and close to each other to minimize "combing."

Yep. I reacted the same way about 3 years ago.

Now I have a 1212/6/1.

It is unfortunately very easy to pick up a bad vibe on the GB designs. Mostly from people who haven't really heard or even seen one, let alone experienced one.

Thanks for the quick posts! I'm at the website again right now. Don't know how I missed the FAQ other than I was there about 2 am.
I honestly like the PJB suitcase with the ext speaker but don't want to part with $1800. That has 8 6" speakers and 300 watts. That puts out pretty much what I want and need on a regular basis. I'll check out the 12/6. Thanks again.

PJB has some great stuff but 1800 buys a lot of Greenboy glorious thunder in a multitude of configurations.

If anyone has any questions about fEARfuls, especially 15/6 related cabs, let me know (or sign up for GB's forum). I have a set and was a fairly early adopter of these cabs, building mine even before the 'final' crossovers and a few other tweaks.

They're still in use (what, 4 or 5 years now? I can't remember!) and I have no intention of switching anytime. Don't let TB board politics get in the way of considering these cabs. I seldom post about them or in reply to them since most of what you get is snide comments and disrespectful trolls. And I don't suffer much these days.
