What is it?

Got this back in '96 in a pawn shop in Jacksonville Florida. I think it's a Silvertone made by Danelectro. Mid-sixties? Does anyone have any conclusive information on this? It's got a neat tone; sounds like a hollowbody even though it's solid. 3/4 scale. Used it once in the studio on a cover of The Cure song "Just Like Heaven". Other than that it just sits in it's case in the closet. The case is what makes me think it is a Silvertone.

I think you're right.

Some info and pics of another Silvertone here (although it looks pretty modded up to me): Link Removed

Don't know a lot about them though. If you were desperate to find out more, you could phone Electric Ladyland guitars in Bristol (UK so allow for the time difference). Steve (I think is his name!) is a genuine expert in all kinds of vintage guitars and will definitely be able to offer you more info. His number is +44 (0)117 983 2500. He doesn't have a website - it's definitely not that kind of place - but you can check out this mystery shopper review here to get an idea of what he's like! http://www.guitarjar.co.uk/features/mystery-shopper-electric-ladyland-bristol/
