I'm the same: not a fan of style over substance.
As was mentioned earlier, the overt sexualization that we see there is very much normalized. It seems cringey to me, but it seems to be the way many/most young women (maybe men too…?) present themselves. I would feel the same if a male player was playing with his shirt off. A personal video is not the same as a show at a club or arena. I would hope that even Flea would wear a shirt (and pants even) if he was doing a youtube demo.
I suppose she has the right to wear what she wants since she can play us all under the table!

But she's not playing those.
She's doing a recording for Chris Bienek who plays Fusion and Jazz.

LOL I'm far from prudish. I have no problems with sexuality, and you can ask my past partners about that. What I have always had a problem with is the expectation that women use their sexuality to get noticed in a work environment rather than gaining advantages through competency alone.
I have a problem with this for a few reasons. 1) it cheapens the efforts of those (men and women) who need to work harder to compete on the basis of skill 2) it feeds into a stereotype that women can't achieve without using their sexuality as a crutch to get ahead and 3) it muddies the water when harassment scenarios occur, as we've seen in the entertainment business time and time again.
As a woman coming up in this business back in the late 70's and early 80's I never wanted to be judged on the basis of anything other than the abilities I was bringing to the table.
There is nothing prudish about that.

I take back my "prudishness" accusation. In my defense, I still have no idea how to say "not sexophobic, but gives too much or a shag what other people do with their body" in English.

Thank you for your input. Me, I'm not - nor have I ever been - a woman, and I don't have an informed opinion (or an otherwise fully-formed one, for that matter) on the impact of Ms. Dey's Youtube attire on the world at large. In fact, I'm several lightyears removed from her circumstances, and I can just assume she has her own reasons for what she wears in videos. Maybe she just likes doing it; I've zero idea. Anyway, more power to her. I only watch videos of her when posted here on TB, and even then I don't always do. Honestly, it's like a different instrument from the one I trudge through. (Not that a solo electric guitarist's shredding feels any closer to what little strumming I'm able to do at bonfires.)

You know, as I said earlier, it's a little old-fashioned, but that's because I came of age several decades ago when we were all still feeling our way through the first waves of what was then known as "women's liberation" and I was taught to conduct myself in a somewhat androgynous manner in order to avoid certain accusations.
A lot has changed in the intervening years; I'm not sure I think it's all change for the better, but we are a long way away from where we were back then, for better or worse. I have nothing against anyone who does what they need to do to be competitive, and in a world where hard porn is now easily found online by little kids, a sexualized presentation is what seems to be expected of women more often than not.
Whether that's a good or bad thing isn't for me to really say - it's the world we created for ourselves in the past 40 years, so she's fine to lean into it or not. I still have my personal outlook on it and I don't think those perspectives are less valid than they used to be, but it's much more normalized now, so here we are.

What is she playing? Jaw dropping stuff at blistering speeds, and she can groove on one note too. She either makes you want to practice or quit
Definitely Mayonnes. Almost a Warwick body but its all unique to Mayonnes. And yeah she's pretty. Nothing creepy about pointing out her attractiveness. This is a bass forum not a Puritan convention.
When a person puts videos of themselves out on the WORLD WIDE WEB, people of all ages and genders will comment, if that's creepy to you maybe you live a strange sheltered life. Especially when a female dresses to obviously attract attention. They will receive it, duh. Oh don't look or comment, shame shame !! She obviously wants attention and comments.
I think she plays great and like her style, she can easily slow down and "groove" if and when she wants to.

I'm so fascinated with her bass tone. I wonder if we can create that kind of tone regardless the bass with some effects (maybe). If so, how to create or at least immitate that type of tone she makes?

Mark at 11:53 where my favourite "song " she plays and in that song, her bass tone is so catchy to my ears. Can anyone check it up? I like how the bass sounds tight, wet, yet when playing slap, it has its mid high or high very sharp but it's not painfully sharp. I love this slap tone as well as the fingering tone.
Anyone can come up with some idea how to create or immitate that sound? I'd love to know it more about it from bassists here!
