What is the best speaker combination for using richosound?

I alway use Ricosound and I own a Ric. Truthfully, I see using it to be worth the trouble and expense. That said I wouldn’t use two identical amps for the system.

I did try a stereo system back in the Eighties. I found it smeared the sound of the bass out in the room so I stopped doing so. it sounded great on the stage.

I paid $70 for my Rich-E-Split box and the 20' stereo cable exactly a year ago back in April 2017. Works great for me. I generally split the Ric-O-Sound 4003 into my Fender Rumble 75 for the bridge treble pup and the neck bass pup into my Rumble 500C.
Years ago back in the 80's I made my own stereo split box and I would use my Peavey MKIV head/1820 cab for the neck bass pup and a marshall 100w superbass head through a 4x12 cab for the bridge treble pup. Thunderous stereo onstage sound. I have no buzz issues, maybe because Australian mains wiring is different here to the US and UK. I have no extra shielding in my Rickenbacker (also spelt correctly lol) 4003.

I bet that thing sounded great through the Marshall, i had a Marshall Major years ago that I stupidly sold. These posts are making me think about trying it again. The last time I did (15 years ago?) I ran it through two SVT's, sounded unbelievable but a little too much of a PITA to move around especially since the music of that band didn't really do much for a stereo ric sound (Rockabilly). Everyone gets scared when you bring two SVT setup's to a show too. But when I get back to the states I think I'll try it again. I got a nice blackface Dual showman head I can use for the bridge pickup through an SVT bottom.

Had a Midnight Blue 4000 in the 70's and just with that one treble bridge pup she sounded great. Beautiful colour.

I think most of the sound of a Ric comes from the bridge anyway, I could get away with just using the bridge pickup for rock n roll.

Im of the older school of thought and 15 inch speakers are bass speakers. Tens are not . Counter to much of the thinking of today. Tens came out from Ampeg because they just couldnt get their SVT to sound right with 215 inch speakers. Far too sloppy, so they convinced everyone they where moving more air with 8 ten inch speakers when actually the excursion rate of those speakers barely move so they arent really moving much at all. You feel 15s. You only get a hint from tens. MHO.

Years ago...I use two separate SVT set-ups with the Ric-O-Sound split box...
One SVT head went to a 8x10 cab for the bridge pick-up... The Neck pick-up went to a second SVT head that went to a V4-B cab.... The V4-B cab replaced with 300W Altec Lansing 15" speakers...so it had two of these 15" speakers in a folded horn... The bass sound was sick.... I remember setting off car alarms every 5 minutes outside the club....
My current band may be playing a large venue in June.... I plan on going to my storage and getting out that equipment again... It will be a blast !!
