what is THE BEST volume boost pedal?

A lot of people tend to like the Catalinbread Serrano Picoso and Super Chile Picoso. I have found that my DHA VT1 can do a fantastic clean boost with the gain most the way down and level cranked. Also, there's the EHX LPB-1, although I'm not sure if its totally clean or not

The MXR Micro Amp is a very cost effective solution that works very well on bass. There is no change in tone, no boost or loss of low end, and its very very clean. I really liked mine but found I just didn't use a boost. Otherwise I would have held onto it.

I like the Bass RC Booster, but the truth is that there isn't much difference between most clean boosts out there. There are miniscule differences in purity, some have more dB than others, but other than that, the differences diminish in contrast to the similarities.

Basically, don't go for the cheapest one there is, but if you're after a one-knobber, almost anything will serve you well.

+1

In the reasonably priced realm, I like my BBE Boosta Grande

depends what you want. I find that flat boosts usually provide too much high end. the Bass RC Booster has (for me) ideal rolloff frequencies that make its 2-band EQ exceptionally useful
